Job Responsibilities

As an HCC Medical Coder at GeBBS Healthcare Solutions, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate medical coding and compliance with industry standards. Your key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing medical records (inpatient, outpatient, and provider reports) to abstract HCC (Hierarchical Condition Category) codes as per ICD-10-CM and HCC-specific guidelines.
• Assigning accurate diagnosis codes based on provider documentation and approved sources.
• Ensuring coding aligns with client-specific requirements and official guidelines to support risk adjustment processes.
• Maintaining high productivity and quality standards as set by management.
• Resolving coding queries promptly through effective communication with team members and reporting managers.
• Adhering to HIPAA compliance standards and company protocols for data security.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this HCC Medical Coder role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: Graduate in Life Sciences (B.Sc., M.Sc., B.Pharm, M.Pharm, or equivalent).
• Experience: Minimum 1.5 years of experience in HCC (Risk Adjustment) coding and chart review.
• Certifications: Mandatory CPC (Certified Professional Coder) and CRC (Certified Risk Adjustment Coder) certifications through AAPC or AHIMA.
• Skills:
