Medical Coder / Senior Medical Coder – Inpatient DRG
- Department: Medical Coding
- Specialization: Inpatient DRG (MS-DRG/APR-DRG)
- Role: Review records, assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, ensure compliance and accuracy
- Experience: 1 to 7+ years in IP DRG medical coding
- Education/Qualification: Any Graduate; CCS or CIC certification (active and verifiable)
Skills/Qualifications
- Active CCS (AHIMA) or CIC (AAPC) certification
- 1–7+ years in Inpatient DRG coding
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology
- Expertise in ICD-10-CM/PCS, POA indicators, medical necessity
- Familiarity with 3M, Optum, CAC, abstracting software (advantage)
- Effective communication (verbal and written, including emails)
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changes
