Research Associate / Sr. Research Associate – Enzymatic Chemistry
- Department: Discovery Chemistry / Biocatalysis
- Role: Research Associate / Senior Research Associate
- Experience: 2–5 years of industrial or research experience
- Education/Qualification: M.Sc. / M.Tech. / Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related field
Skills/Qualifications
- Expertise in enzyme-catalyzed reactions and condition optimization
- Proficiency in analytical techniques like HPLC, LCMS, GC, and Chiral Analysis
- Hands-on experience with KREDS, Lipases, Transaminases, and Oxidoreductases
- Strong knowledge of Medicinal/Process Chemistry, Route Scouting, and Enzyme Scale-up
- Excellent documentation skills and multidisciplinary teamwork capabilities
Key Responsibilities
- Perform enzyme-catalyzed organic transformations including reductions, oxidations, and C-C/C-N bond formations.
- Optimize enzymatic reactions including pH, temperature, cofactors, solvents, and loading.
- Screen commercial enzyme libraries and platforms to discover novel biocatalytic routes.
- Monitor reactions, execute purification, and perform characterization using analytical tools.
- Collaborate with synthetic chemists to integrate biocatalytic solutions into workflows.
- Maintain meticulous experimental records and present technical updates to stakeholders.
