About the Project
This project focuses on developing a hybrid digital twin framework for detection of multiple coexisting faults in rotating machinery. The system will combine:
- Physics-based simulation models for vibration and acoustic signals
- Real-time experimental data from Machine Fault Simulator
- Advanced signal processing and two-stage ML pipeline for fault classification
- GUI-based diagnostic toolkit for real-time input, visualization, fault characterization and RUL prediction
The proposed system targets India’s MSME sector and aligns with Make in India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, Sangam Digital Twin Initiative, and Industry 4.0 for smart manufacturing.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Any one of the following:
- Option 1: 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in Science/Agriculture/B.Pharm/BVSc/B.E/B.Tech/MBBS + 4 years R&D experience
- Option 2: Master’s Degree in Engineering/Technology + 2 years R&D experience
- Option 3: Doctoral Degree in Science/Engineering/Technology/Pharma/MD/MS
Qualifying degree must be from a recognized University/Institute.
Job Profile & Responsibilities
- Conducting independent research towards completion of the project
- Writing project progress reports
- Writing papers, proposals and patents as suggested by PI
- Assisting in teaching activities
- Assisting in supervising MTech and PhD students
- Making field visits to collect data for the project
Salary & Benefits
| Consolidated Salary | Rs. 57,000/- per month |
| Additional | HRA as per IIT Bombay norms |
| Note | Selection committee may offer lower/higher designation and salary based on experience |
