The Staff Selection Commission of India has released almost 365 types of job opportunities for various types of education-qualified candidates under government offices and different ministries, which are permanent in nature.
The posts are released with different pay scales starting from level 1 to a whopping one up to level 8.

Eligibility and requirements:
So the eligibility can vary depending on their post.
Matriculation: Candidates who passed class 10 from a recognized board.
10+2 level: Candidates who passed intermediate from a recognized board.
Graduation: Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognized university.
Age Limit (As on 01.08.2025):
The age limit varies from post to post, starting at 18 years and up to 42 years for some of the posts.
Relaxations:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities): 10 years
- PwBD (OBC): 13 years
- PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years
- Ex-Servicemen (ESM): 3 years (after deduction of military service from actual age)
- Defense personnel disabled in operation (general): 3 years
- Defense personnel disabled in operation (SC/ST): 8 years
Additional Age Relaxation for Group ‘C’ Posts:
- Central Govt. Civilian Employees (General): Up to 40 years (with ≥3 years regular continuous service)
- Central Govt. Civilian Employees (SC/ST): Up to 45 years (with ≥3 years regular continuous service)
- Widows/Divorced (General): Up to 35 years
- Widows/Divorced (SC/ST): Up to 40 years
How is the selection done?
The selection is done based on CBT and additional tests like skill tests, etc.
There will be three separate CBTs of MCQ type for different education levels.

FOR ALL CANDIDATES CBT SYLLABUS WILL BE AS BELOW:
- General Intelligence
- General Awareness
- Quantitative Aptitude
- English Language
CBT pattern:
A set of 25 questions will be given for each section, like General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language.
Each question carries 2 marks; thus, a candidate can score up to 50 marks from each section, summing up to 200 marks maximum.
There is negative marking of 0.5 for each wrong answer.
After CBT,
Skill tests like typing/data entry/computer proficiency tests, etc., will be held based on the job level.
IF THE CANDIDATE FEELS ANY OF THE ANSWERS IN THE KEY IS WRONG, HE/SHE CAN CHALLENGE THAT QUESTION BY PAYING 100 RS PER QUESTION THROUGH ONLINE MODE.
