Indorama Synthetics India Limited is seeking a dedicated CP Process Supervisor/Engineer to join our team in Nagpur. This critical role involves managing and optimizing our continuous polymerization (CP) process to produce high-quality polyester chips and melt, meeting stringent international quality standards and production targets. The ideal candidate will be a Chemical Engineer with proven experience in large-scale polyester manufacturing or the chemical process industry.
Job Description:
Positions: CP Process Supervisor/Engineer
Location: A-31, MIDC Industrial Area, Butibori, Nagpur, Maharashtra, India
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Management: Oversee all CP plant operations during assigned shifts, ensuring production targets are achieved.
- Process Monitoring: Monitor critical process parameters using the Distributed Control System (DCS) and field instruments.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain robust quality control procedures for final products (chips/melt), focusing on metrics like intrinsic viscosity, color, and end groups.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Identify and resolve process deviations and equipment malfunctions promptly, coordinating with the maintenance team for preventative and corrective actions.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, guide, and train operators and technicians, ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, conducting audits and risk assessments to maintain ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 compliance.
- Reporting & Analysis: Analyze production data (efficiency, yield, energy consumption) and propose improvements to reduce costs and enhance productivity.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in initiatives to enhance process efficiency, reduce waste, and incorporate new technologies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Petrochemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience: Minimum of 3–7 years of relevant experience in a continuous polymerization (CP plant) or large-scale chemical process industry, preferably in polyester manufacturing.
Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of polyester polycondensation processes and related raw materials (PTA and MEG).
- Hands-on experience with DCS operation and plant instrumentation.
- Familiarity with specific CP technologies like Zimmer or DuPont (highly advantageous).
